Timothy Knight, president, PPC Fraser Valley Regional Association
Chilliwack BC Jan 8, 2024
We want to wish you all renewed vigour, health and wellness, and a happy new year, in 2024!
As promised we are rolling out Operation: Plus One today. The next election may not take place until the Autumn of 2025. It may be sooner. We do not know. But it is our goal to put PPC MPs in the House of Commons on election night!
Operation: Plus One is about election readiness. Our election readiness is grounded on one fact. 2019 and 2021 showed us that 1 active party member is equal to 20 votes! Therefore we are focusing on maximizing party membership. The rest will follow: volunteers, donors, directors, candidates, and votes.
Social media pages will be updated and will be more active. Our Facebook group is at https://www.facebook.com/peoplespfv. Please invite as many as you can to join our Facebook group page.
When we have a volunteer base and can afford the printing, we will begin a door hangar campaign across three districts, from Boston Bar to Hope to Chilliwack to Abbotsford out to Langley and to Matsqui to Mission and up to Skookumchuck. This will augment an active schedule of speaking engagements for your candidate at local grassroots organization meetings and public events. We will leave select print material with these groups that they will distribute to their supporters and community on our behalf. These organizations will offer additional volunteers and donor support. If you have such an organization to whom you want to introduce your candidate let them know and they will work with you.
Pending adequate funding, we plan to carry an inventory of t-shirts, hoodies, and hats, and other, fully branded merchandise. In addition, we will add items that are specifically of the utility kind: Stickers, Pens, Car Flags, Drink-ware, Lanyards/Name Badges, and similar small items that people hold in their hands, or use, share, and display regularly.
Your candidates, Elizabeth Drocholl (representing Chilliwack-Hope) and Jeff Galbraith (representing Mission-Matsqui-Abbotsford) will take the lead in their own districts. Currently, the Abbotsford-South Langley district has no candidate. The EDA will manage that district until a candidate for that district is available.
Operation: Plus One is so simple
that a single active party member
who recruits a new member to the party
as fully achieved the program goals.
The Operation: Plus One strategy is outlined below. REMEMBER: 1 active Member = 20 Votes.
Update website contacts with active members (COMPLETED)
Recapture lapsed members (January-February Telephone Campaign)
Double the sum of 1 & 2 during 2024 (Spring AGM)
Double 2024 totals during 2025
Find and support 3 volunteer coordinators for each district
9 total coordinators
Find and assign 2 local volunteers to each coordinator
18 total volunteers
Find and secure 10 monthly donors for each district
30 total donors
In 2021 the total number of votes across the three Fraser Valley electoral districts was 12,000. If we can build an active membership of 3,600 by the 2025 Autumn election we can reasonably expect 72,000 votes cast for the PPC.
These gains are realized
by recruiting only ONE new member
per active member in a repeatable manner.
We CAN send PPC MPs to Parliament Hill!
