PRESS RELEASE
PPC Fraser Valley Regional Association
Chilliwack BC November 30, 2023
We are proud to announce that the candidate applicants for the federal electoral districts of Chilliwack-Hope and Mission-Matsqui-Abbotsford have been approved by PPC Headquarters!
Elizabeth Drocholl, who has been acting in the role of candidate applicant for Chilliwack-Hope since Autumn 2022, has been acclaimed as the PPC candidate for that district. Her profile and articles are available online at the PPC Fraser Valley Regional Association website at https://www.fraservalleyppc.ca/team/elizabeth-drocholl.
Jeff Galbraith, who successfully competed in the newly implemented national candidate application program at PPC HQ, has been acclaimed as the PPC candidate for the district of Mission-Matsqui-Abbotsford. Jeff's profile is online at the PPC Fraser Valley Regional Association website at https://www.fraservalleyppc.ca/team/jeff-galbraith.
The People's Party of Canada Fraser Valley Regional Association (PPC FVRA) is the executive and administrative arm of the PPC at the district level. The FVRA promotes the party and supports the activities of PPC candidates in three neighbouring districts comprising the Fraser Valley Region. It operates from Hope north to Boston Bar, Mission north to Skookumchuck, Chilliwack west to Abbotsford... and now west again to include South Langley.
In early 2024, after two years of extensive work on the part of Elections Canada, three new boundaries will become active: Chilliwack-Hope, Mission-Matsqui-Abbotsford, and Abbotsford-South Langley, serving approximately 300,000 citizens (source: https://redecoupage-redistribution-2022.ca/ebv2/index.html?locale=en-ca).
Timothy Knight, president of the PPC FVRA noted, “The PPC saw about 3% of the vote in the three electoral districts in the first election in 2019. In 2021 that number leapfrogged to over 7%, more than doubling at the polls. The people spoke. Then the people spoke louder. Next, the people will shout.
“Today, the FVRA welcomes two qualified and committed candidates to the team. They begin their public life among receptive citizens who are ready for a government whose pillars are freedom, respect, fairness, and responsibility. Awareness and election readiness remain Job One.”
The People's Party of Canada is grateful for the capable leadership and trailblazing provided by its outgoing candidates, Nick Csaszar and Tyler Niles of Mission-Matsqui-Fraser Canyon, Locke Duncan and Kevin Sinclair of Abbotsford, and Rob Bogunovic of Chilliwack-Hope, statesmen, every one.
